Privacy.
A readable explanation of the information this MVP stores.
Information you provide
The newsletter launch list stores your email address, consent and submission time. Bug reports, feedback, data corrections and contact enquiries store the details you provide, your submission reference, page and app version. Bug reports also include your browser description and window size. Your reply email is optional for bugs, feedback and corrections. Do not include sensitive personal, medical or financial information in these forms.
These records are stored in a private database for the US Data Watch operator to administer the list, respond to enquiries, diagnose problems and review corrections. Reports may be included in email alerts to the operator through Brevo when configured. Newsletter delivery uses a separate provider. Weekly email delivery has not started. Marketing use requires your newsletter consent.
Technical information
Your theme and visual-motion preferences are saved in your browser’s local storage. Our submission endpoint hashes a request IP address or authenticated user identifier to limit abuse. It stores hourly request counts, with expired counters removed. Submitting the same form again with its existing reference does not create another report. Hosting providers may also process ordinary access and security logs under their own policies.
Your optional analytics choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days. You can change it using Analytics preferences at the bottom of the screen. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals disable analytics.
Optional Google Analytics
With your permission, US Data Watch loads Google Analytics 4 to measure public-page visits and use of data tools, including indicator openings, downloads, source-link clicks, newsletter launch-list signups and support-link clicks. Google processes technical information such as browser and device details and approximate location, and uses first-party analytics cookies with a configured lifetime of up to 180 days. Support-link clicks do not establish that a payment occurred.
Our controlled events exclude form contents, names, email addresses, report references and search text. Page addresses omit query strings and fragments, and referrers are limited to their origin. Private administration, authentication, API and captured-report pages are excluded. The Google tag is not loaded before permission or after rejection, and advertising storage, personalization and Google Signals are disabled in our tag configuration.
Rejecting analytics does not restrict site access. Withdrawing permission stops further measurement and clears this site’s accessible Google Analytics cookies. It does not erase information already received by Google. Read Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from partner sites. Newsletter consent is separate from analytics consent.
Access, removal and providers
Use the enquiry form to request removal of an email address or to ask about stored information. Include the relevant email address; the operator may need to verify the request. An external payment or newsletter page has its own privacy terms.
Before public launch, US Data Watch must name its legal operator, publish a direct privacy contact and a retention schedule, and review applicable state and international privacy requirements. This MVP policy remains subject to that review.
